Continuing from our previous tutorials on creating a Hive account and signing up for NFTy Arcade, we will now provide a basic guide on how to start playing Splinterforge, a new game in the Splinterlands ecosystem. We will explain the steps you need to take in order to begin playing and getting familiar with the game.
As we have previously stated in our article about Splinterforge, you have the option to log in using Hive Keychain. If you do not currently have a Hive Keychain, you can follow this guide to learn how to create one.
There are three types of heroes in Splinterforge, which align with the existing hero categories in Splinterlands:
- Melee
- Magic
- Ranged
These categories should be familiar to those who have played Splinterlands before. If you are new to Splinterlands a guide can be found here.
Improve Stats by Equipping Cards
You can enhance the stats of your heroes in Splinterforge by equipping them with special cards. The cards provide various bonuses to your hero’s attributes, such as increased attack power or defense. By carefully selecting and equipping these cards, you can create a powerful hero that is well-equipped for battle.
How to get Cards
In Splinterforge, players have the option to purchase Alpha Crates from the shop using FORGE, the game’s primary currency. Alpha Crates contain gear that can be equipped by your heroes to enhance their stats and abilities. In addition to Alpha Crates, players can also purchase Enhancement Bags from the shop, which contain gems that can be socketed into the gear to further improve its performance. These gems can be leveled up using Electronium, the game’s secondary currency. By investing in these items, players can create even stronger and more formidable heroes to take on their opponents in battle.
Boss Battle
In Splinterforge, there is a Boss Battle mode where you can face off against a powerful boss character. The rules of the Boss Battle mode are as follows: You will need to form a team of heroes to take on the boss, and each hero can only be used once. The boss will have a set amount of health, and your goal is to defeat it before it defeats your heroes. Additionally, there may be certain conditions or restrictions that apply to the battle, such as a time limit or limitations on the types of heroes or cards that can be used. It is important to carefully strategize and choose your team and cards wisely in order to succeed in the Boss Battle.
In the screenshot below, you can see that the player is actively selecting the monsters and summoners to fill their 45 mana cap. It is worth noting that, in Splinterforge, players are allowed to select up to two summoners from the Splinterlands card collection, and the remaining six monster slots must be filled within the 45 mana cap. This process requires careful consideration and strategic planning in order to create a well-balanced team that can effectively defeat the opponent.
Once the player has selected their team, which includes an additional summoner that serves as the game summoner, the team will consist of the following characters.
In Splinterforge, there is no time limit for selecting cards to fill your team. This allows players to take their time and carefully consider their options before making their final selection. However, players must adhere to the maximum limit of seven cards and a total of 45 energy when building their team. This means that players need to strategically choose the cards that will best complement each other and give them the best chance of winning in battle. The absence of a time limit, coupled with the energy limit, encourages players to think critically and plan ahead to create a powerful and effective team.
Once the battle in Splinterforge has ended, players will be directed to the results screen. Here, they can review the details of the battle, including the performance of their team and the rewards earned. This screen provides valuable feedback that players can use to evaluate their strategy and make adjustments for future battles. By analyzing the results and learning from their mistakes, players can continue to improve and advance through the game.
